programs run from Mid-September to end of March
beginner
This program is targeted at those new to the sport of speed skating and those interested in maintaining their level of fitness through speed skating. The hour will consist of instruction appropriate to the age of the skater. It may include warm-up, skill progression, laps, relays, games and a cool-down period.
intermediate
This program is targeted for younger competitive skaters and beginners choosing to skate twice a week. The on-ice instruction will consist of warm-up, skill progression, laps, relays, games and a cool-down period appropriate for competition.
Note: Placement in this Group is done by coaches’ recommendation. Please speak with a coach prior to registering for this session.
advanced
This program is targeted at the more advanced competitive skater. Those interested in advancing their skill level will participate in the second hour of the club’s twice-weekly session.
